Yesterday, when I checked my Instagram app, I was immediately taken with a spectacular photo of the Golden Gate Bridge taken from a sailboat on San Francisco Bay. It was even more impressive to me since it was photographed by a family member just last weekend while using a Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. It’s just more evidence that our smartphones keep getting better and better and are no slouches as backups to our usual cameras.

Even though we don’t have the abundance of trees that change colour in the fall like they do in Quebec and Vermont we still manage to find some areas here that do have enough trees to brighten up a fall day. Tuesday, late morning, we went for a walk around the Cobble Hill Quarry lake.
Our weather pattern continues to be a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde performance here on the Island. Yesterday it looked to be rainy weather early in the morning but cleared up nicely and we ended up with a great, sunny, comfortable 56F day.
Slowly but surely our thoughts our beginning to turn to our southward migration in the middle of December. It’s coming up fast so I printed off our various travel checklists so that we can get started on some of them a bit early. It’s mostly the usual stuff for me like checking the rig’s propane tanks, battery, packing the basements with our outside loungers, carpets and dog fences.
Thanks for visiting!
