It was a long 12 hour, 350 mile road trip for me yesterday as I chauffeured Paulette and 4 of her quilting friends to visit several quilt shops from Palm Springs to San Diego yesterday. All 6 of us, along with Rylie of course, managed to squeeze into our truck as we left the RV park right on time at 8:30am.

Our first stop was a familiar place – Temecula which is roughly the halfway point between Desert Hot Springs and San Diego. There were 2 shops the women wanted to visit so Rylie and I did our usual walkabout around Old Town while we waited.
Leaving Temecula we headed south stopping in both Vista and San Marcos to visit more of the “most favourite quilt shops in the world”. The final stop was The Country Loft in La Mesa. By the time all the shopping was done we had bags stuffed all over the truck – behind seats, under seats and in the foot wells. We arrived back in Palm Springs around 7pm where we stopped at Ruby’s Diner for dinner. It was a perfect evening and we were able to sit outside on Palm Canyon Dr. while we ate.
The Quilters were off again this morning to the Road to California Quilt Show
Not much else to say about yesterday except it was a long day. Unbelievably, at least to me, all 5 of the women who spent 12 hours quilt shopping yesterday, boarded a bus here at the Sands at 8am this morning for the short drive down to Ontario, CA to attend the huge, really big Road to California Quilt Show. For me, it’s going to be a quiet, restful day with lots of time spent lounging in the sun!
Thanks for visiting!
